RINGGG RINGGG RINGGG… My phone’s alarm jars me awake from a deep night of sleep. My phone screen illuminates “4:50 AM”, which means that it is time to get ready for work. My job as a cart boy at a local golf course does not require my attendance until 6:00 AM, and with a 15 or so minute commute, I have just under an hour to get ready for the day. My body does not want to move, but I will myself to get out from under my warm covers and onto the chilly wood floor in my university housing. The cool floor jerks my body awake. I gulp down a glass of water that I leave on my bedside and I scurry towards the bathroom. I hit the light switch and turn on the shower. As the shower heats up, I brush my teeth and move the clothes that I had set out the night before onto the wall rack in my bathroom. I hop into the shower and let the warm water cascade over my cold, but awake body, and I mentally prepare for what I desire to get done. Newfound motivation washes over me as the water cleanses me and I rush out of the shower. I get dressed quickly… wasting no time since all of my clothes were prepared and organized. I then move towards the kitchen and turn on my beloved Keurig. I tossed two waffles in the toaster and took my vitamin stack. I typically prefer to fuel my body with a more appetizing and healthy breakfast, but I made do this morning. I retrieve my waffles from the toaster, grab my coffee, and make a glass of water before I move to the living room. I devour the waffles and grab my kindle. The clock at the top of the screen reads “5:26 AM”. “Beautiful”, I think. Speeding through the morning gave me the opportunity to read some of my newest book, Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software by Charles Petzold. The book fascinates me as it simply explains detailed information on a variety of subject matters that all lead back to coding in general. Before I knew it, I had to leave and commute to work.

I honestly can say, I love my mornings. There is no better feeling than waking up with a purpose. I know why I make the decisions that I make, and I am able and willing to go to extreme lengths to achieve my dreams.
